The past 30 years has seen an extraordinary increase in consumer demand for safe, effective and cost-effective natural health care. Naturopathic medicine has emerged as the health-care profession best suited to meet this demand. Although it almost disappeared in the mid-twentieth century because of the popularity of drugs and surgery, naturopathic medicine now offers safe, effective natural therapies as a vital part of the health-care systems of North America the twenty-first century.
Dr. Bishop and Judith Ziol treats people with allergies, autoimmune diseases, high blood pressure, thyroid issues, arthritis, chronic pain, diabetes, weight loss, fatigue, gout, shingles, pediatric illnesses, colds, flus, ear infections as well as those just looking for a more natural approach to their optimal health.
They can prescribe medications but does so as a last resort. Instead, Dr. Bishop may use botanical medicine, acupuncture, homeopathy, hydrotherapy and nutrition to get results.
The strong foundation in medical science that Naturopathic Medical Doctors receive in training allows them to practice responsibly as primary care physicians. Similarly, the strong foundation in natural medicine allows a variety of modalities such as: botanical medicine, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, nutrition, acupuncture and physical medicine. NMD’s can prescribe pharmaceuticals as well as order labs and imaging.
